My name is Dan Smith and I decided that people in the Disaster Recovery industry needed a place for more DR information. Currently, there are a couple of sites out there that have a lot of Business Continuity information with a little bit of DR info sprinkled in. I thought that it would be nice to have information, templates, discussion pages, and such that would help out DR practitioners.
I started my IT career after graduating with a degree in Mathematics from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. I worked for several years in IT until I decided that I wanted to learn even more, so I worked toward an MBA in Technology Management from the University of Phoenix. I had been a developer for a number of years until I moved into Disaster Recovery a few years ago. While I have really enjoyed it, I have always looked for places to get information. That place is here.
Join in and have some fun learning about and sharing your knowledge of Disaster Recovery. This is something for the DR community, so please feel free to give thoughts and feedback. I want to make this a site that you all feel adds value to you and your professions.
Also, when you feel like you would like to write your own post about a topic in Disaster Recovery that you feel strongly about, please write it and send a copy to me. I will edit it, send it back to you for approval, and then post it on the site while giving you credit. Email it to dan@disasterrecoveryblog.com and I will make sure that your topic will be posted.
